Hello and a happy Sunday to you all
As most of you know we have a new drummer Ken Maceachran who is a sprightly 61

and don’t be fooled by his age ken has fitted well into our set up

I asked him to give me a little background on how he came to be in the band and a few other questions and here was his reply

Before Strangetouch I have been involved with numerous bands

Most were fairly anonymous.
The most successful was 'Easy Action' late 70's early 80's. They could be best described

as a comedy show band/eagles tribute. Went from semi-pro club band to pro cabaret
band signed to same management as 'Middle of the Road'

My style of playing is pop/rock, sometimes with an easy funk groove, perhaps that's why I liked Stragetouch's music from the offset

I've known Strangetouch about a couple of months. We rehearse once a week.

Met them through search engine 'Band mix'
Thomas McCallum writes the songs, haven't a clue what they are about, but they sound good.

At the moment, it's all original material, but I'm open minded about doing covers. I don't have a burning desire for anything in particular at the moment.

My advice to anyone starting a band is be patient; Rome wasn't built in a day. However, most of all is professional, reliable and committed.

You can get more info about me from

one more thing - It's not essential to be daft - but I find it helps.
Even half-daft will do

Cheers ken
First off I have to make an apology for exaggerating on last weeks blog when I said some guy slaughtered one of our songs this is what he wrote
The music is all over the place, each instrument seems to be playing or want to play at a different tempo. Makes it pretty hard to listen to. Got to lock into that groove my man
The melody is pretty decent though, it's worth a better performance. .”

This is what I read
“ It’s rubbish”
Although I never made any comment back to him it just shows that we can take the negative out of anything don’t allways believe what you think

I don’t know about you lot, but I am into loads of styles in music whilst at a Patrick Bullen & Vivien Scotson gig I came across a guy called John Taylor he has one of the most unique vocals I have heard in a very long time you can check him out here

Last night we were supposed to play Bar Bliss again for the 3rd time and that would have been first for us, we would have had 4 band members all together at once wooooo hoooooooooooo
Due to some mix up in the booking meant, we didn't play so I have to once again apologise to some folk Patrick & Vivian , and the guys from The Reasons who were coming to check us out
sorry guys out of our control I am afraid
So that brings this weeks episode to a close tune in next week where we will give you the low down on future happenings

Last weeks blog count was a whopping 171 reads thank you everyone
Bye for now and be good
Thomas x
